It is always a good time for a road-trip and when the road takes you along the beautiful Garden Route so much the better! Someone in Jeffreys Bay heard about Centering Prayer and phoned to find out more – we suggested a workshop to share it with others, and very soon the wheels were in motion. The last weekend in October was set aside and adverts were sent to all the churches in the little town and even stuck up in the Spar!
It was with great excitement that Janie Potgieter and Linda Nicolson set off from Cape Town early on Thursday morning – our first workshop in nearly two years! We were warmly welcomed by Carmen, our host, who really went the extra mile in organising the workshop and also giving us a taste of life in JBay. On Friday night and Saturday morning 24 of us gathered in the Jeffreys Bay Methodist Church to learn and practice Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina. There were lots of questions but the feedback from the workshop was very positive and the new Jeffreys Bay small group facilitator very enthusiastic to continue the spiritual journey they have now begun. We wish them well as they set out.
